1. Obituary: Daily News, Dec. 8, 2009. ARCADIA, Wis. \emdash Jerome "Jerry" Schollmeier, 85, of Arcadia died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Christian Community Home in Hudson, Wis.
He was born July 19, 1924, in Winona to Ben and Mayme (Wolfe) Schollmeier. On June 16, 1949, Jerry married Lita Wieland in Fountain City, Wis. She died Nov. 14, 1990.
Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He made his living farming in Glencoe Township for much of his life, but also worked at Merchants Bank in Winona prior to moving to Arcadia. Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 68 years and also served as a member of the Arcadia School Board for 13 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Merita D. Schollmeier of Woodbury, Minn.; two sons, Terry (Sally) Schollmeier of Bryan, Ohio, and Kent (Kathy) Schollmeier of Stillwater, Minn.; and eight grandchildren, Aaron (Gina), Ryan, Heidi, Rachel, Joy, Jakob, Lita, and Eli.
Preceding Jerry in death was his wife of 41 years; grandson, Zachary; three brothers, Linus, Eugene, and Charles; and one sister, Sister Delores.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial will be at Glencoe Lutheran Cemetery, Arcadia.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service. Friends may also call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Casket bearers will be Jerry's grandchildren, Aaron, Ryan, Jakob, Rachel, and Joy. Winona
