• Obituary. KENOSHA - Richard 'Dick' Niesen passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Racine on March 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Raymond and Marianne (nee: Bergemann) Niesen.
He attended local schools in Racine and was a graduate of St. Catherine's High School.
Dick served with the United States Army for four years, stationed in Korea.
For about 25 years, Dick was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker. He retired in 2005 as a member of the Sheet Metal Local 18.
On March 30, 1971, Dick married Lillian Barsuli Irwin. Together, they raised their six children. They include Anthony (Donna) Niesen of Kenosha, Carla (Rob) Ladousa of Kenosha, Paul Niesen of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael (Fiorella) Irwin of Phoenix, Ariz., Linda (Steve) Livingston of Kenosha, and Gregg Irwin of Kenosha. He has 14 wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandson. Dick was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and liked to watch NASCAR racing.
He was an excellent cook and catered many weddings and parties.
Left to remember Dick are his brothers, Charles (Judy) Niesen of Racine and David (Jane) Niesen of Sturtevant; also his sisters, Jeanne Charnon of New Berlin and Donna (David) Deschler of Waupaca; many special nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, James Kaiser of Bloomington, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rae Anne Kaiser.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with Military Honors and Funeral services to follow.
Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI..

Richard married Donna Mae Davis, daughter of Kenneth F Davis and Geraldine Haller, about 1965. (Donna Mae Davis was born on 7 Dec 1942 and was buried in Racine, WI, Calvary Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum.)
