• Obituary. Woodbine- Lyman L. Hayes, 55, a native of Jo Daviess County and a resident of Woodbine for the past 10 years, died unexpectedly in his home here at midnight Saturday. Mr. Hayes was a veteran of World War II, and upon his return from the service, he and his wife farmed in the Stockton area until 1956, when they moved to Woodbine. He was employed as a supervisor at Atwood Vacuum Machine Co. in Stockton since that time and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Elizabeth. He was born Jan. 16, 1911, in Berreman Township, Jo Daviess County, the son of Charles and Daisy (Krise) Hayes. On Dec. 5, 1942, he married the former Miss Regina Boyle of Stockton at Tacoma, Wash. Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Linda, Marilyn and Elaine, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Earl (Linnie) Croffoot of Hanover; a half-sister, Mrs. Dean (Lucille) Collin of Pearl City; and a half-brother, Ralph Haynes of Stockton. Funeral service will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Stockton at 9:30 am Tuesday with the Rev. C.J. Thennes officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Stockton. Friends may call at Nadig Funeral Home in Elizabeth tonight, where the Rosary will be recited at 8.
Lyman married Regina Olive Boyle, daughter of Owen Boyle and Olive Momenteller. (Regina Olive Boyle was born on 13 Oct 1920 in Stockton, IL, died on 4 Mar 2005 in Freeport, IL and was buried in Stockton, IL, Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.)
