1. Obituary. Charlotte G. Garber, of the Tomah & Warren's area, passed on at the age of 63, after a 40-day fight of her life, on May 21st, at Gundersen Health System La Crosse. She was born June 25th, 1960, to Ardella Shaw & Kenneth Garber. She found her Lord & Savor on an Easter Sunday, when she was baptized, along with her FAVORITE Grandson Yoda.
She was a member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1978. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing, waitressing, crocheting, sewing, needle point, shopping & spending time with her friends & family. She always had a flare for make-up, beautiful fingernails & high heels. Before her passing, I was able to snazz her up, & paint all of her nails in the sparkliest pink that I could find. It was an amazing last bonding moment with My Mom.
She served in the Army, joined at 31 years old, & was an extremely proud Army Woman Veteran. She had a passion for helping fellow Veterans, & devoted her heart, soul & time to working at Ft. McCoy & The Tomah VA Medical Center. She also worked for the Ho-Chunk Nation & held other part time jobs.
In her later years she enjoyed traveling out West with the love of her life Bill, gardening, ice & regular fishing, bird watching, watching The Packers (after watching me play in school with the boys & her love of the game began), activities with her FAVORITE Grandson Yoda & visits with family & friends.
She is survived by her Once in a Lifetime Loving Boyfriend William/Bill Maass & Family, her FAVORITE Grandson Yoda, her Daughter Amy, Brother Joe (Kim) Garber & Family, Brother Rick (Nancy) Garber & Family, 1/2 Sisters Shirley Meineke's Children & Families, Aunt Joice (Roy) Skogen & Family, Earl Resendaz & Family, Missy Hanson, Caleb Voltz & Family, Burke Berzins & Family, Nikki Raese, Lori, Terri, The Dahn Family, The Johnson Family, The Beranke Family, Her Fur-babies, Fur-grandbabies, & a TERMENDOUS Amount of Loving Family & Friends.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, 1/2 Sister Shirley, An Infant Son, An Infant Grandchild, Her Baby Girl & Best Dog Blossom, Lois Berzins, Papa J, Anna Koebler, Taylor Beaver III, Other Amazing & Memorable Family & Friends, Fur-babies & Fur-grandbabies.
My Mom was feisty & fierce who fought through everything presented to her, with every inch that she was. She is hands down the strongest woman that I have EVER known! My favorite memory of My Mom is when we got to pet the dolphins at the Minnesota Zoo. I LOVE YOU IMMENSELY & FOREVER MY MOM!
Our Family would like to extend our utmost love, hugs & appreciation to EVERYONE in our lives, especially those that supported us through My Mom's 40-day journey. THANK YOU to our Family, & the Staff that cared for My Mom throughout her life & this journey~ Nikki, Terri, Lori, Tomah VAMC, The Home Health Agencies, Tomah Ambulance Service, Tomah Health, Gundersen Health System, GHS- Surgery, ICU, Palliative, Hospice & the Entire 6th Floor & to the Families of those that "sacrificed" time with these loved ones when they were with My Mom; WE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS, FOR THE CARE THAT YOU PROVIDED MY MOM!!
In lieu of a Funeral Service, a Celebration of Life & Committal Service, with Full Military Honors, will be held on Sunday, June 30th, 2024, at the Warren's Mills Cemetery. Service will be at 12/Noon, at the Cemetery, with a lunch-in to follow.
Charlotte married James C Martin. (James C Martin was buried in Warrens, WI, Warren Mills Cemetery.)
