My Grandmother was a housewife and active in the Methodist Church all her life. She suffered a stroke in the 1950's but my Grandfather cared for her at home until she died. She always raised a big garden plus hogs and chickens.

I have two distinct memories of my Grandmother before she fell ill. I was very young (maybe 5 or so) and was standing on a stool so I could reach the sink to peel potatoes. When I put the water on the potatoes and picked up one of them, it looked like there was an eye staring at me. I asked her what it was and she said "it's an eye" which scared me because I thought those potatoes were living and had eyes staring at me! The other is when I was visiting them by myself before I started school and locked myself in the bathroom. I wasn't strong enough to turn the lock to unlock it. I remember she and my Grandpa being out on the porch roof and he boosted her thru the window so she could unlock the door for me. I didn't get in trouble and I'm not sure why I locked the door in the first place, probably because I was in a strange place by myself.
She had 9 siblings: George A Jones, Clara B Jones Robinson, Alvin L Jones, Amandra M Jones, Orah A Jones, Mary O Jones, Mabel A Jones, Charley Jones, & Iola K Jones Harris.

Her Granddaughter, Sharon (McLaughlin) Wilson

Florence married Joseph Marion McLaughlin. (Joseph Marion McLaughlin was born on 7 Sep 1883, died on 4 Sep 1973 and was buried in Schaller, IA, Schaller Cemetery.)
