1. Miscellaneous. Abraham was a son of Frances (Hills) & John Bronson*. He was baptized in Hartford, Hartford County, CT on 28 November 1647.
He married Anna (Hannah) Griswold on Sept. 2, 1674 in Lyme, CT. Their daughter, Elizabeth is our ancestor. Their other children were Abraham, Mary, Dorcus, Ann, Mercy, Sarah, Frances & John.
Abraham was commissioned a Lieutenant in 1678. He also was an administrator of the estate of Matthew Griswold, his father-in-law, and was involved in a legal dispute with his brother-in-law, Matthew Jr., who accused him of destroying family papers.
*Alternate name spelling - Brownson. Another source says father's name was Abraham Brunson . The surname changed from Brownson to Bronson when they came to America, then to Brunson for those who went to South Carolina about 1700. This is documented in the book, "Four Centuries of Brunsons" published by Ray Brunson in 1988.
Abraham married Anna Griswold, daughter of Matthew Griswold and Hannah Wolcott, on 2 Sep 1674 in Lyme, CT. (Anna Griswold was born in 1655, died on 13 Apr 1721 and was buried in Old Lyme, CT, Meeting House Hill Cemetery.)
