1. Obituary. OAKDALE, Wis. \emdash Jerry Lee Meacham, 83, of Oakdale died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 3, 1931, to Ora and Amy (Parker) Meacham. Jerry proudly served his country as a member of U.S. Army. On June 24, 1952, Jerry was united in marriage to Betty Franklin at Warrens Baptist Church. He worked mossing and pulping. He also worked with his son-in-law at Nick's Construction. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. Jerry had a gentle personality and a very strong will. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing and laughing with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his infectious smile.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty of Oakdale; three children, Dixie (Fred) Johnson of Warrens, Kathy (Ron) Nicks of Tomah and Jerry Lee Jr. (Barb) of Merrillan; seven grandchildren, Tanya (Tim) Marten, Donyell (Brian) Zingler, Stephanie (Khalil) Johnson, Jared Meacham, Sheena Nicks, Aaron (Amanda) Meacham, Logan (Angie) Meacham; eight great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death his parents; a grandson, Luke; brothers and sisters, Bud Meacham, Ethel, Opal, Dallas, Edward and Eugene.

Jerry married Betty Franklin on 24 Jun 1952. (Betty Franklin died on 8 Oct 2023 and was buried in Mather, WI, Pine Grove Cemetery.)
