Dora Lavina Slater

• Miscellaneous. Dora (Slater) Hinze Slater was the daughter of George Leslie Slater and Harriet Elizabeth "Hattie" Greek. Her 1st husband was John Fred Hinze whom she married 13 May 1898. After the birth of Ethel, John disappeared. She then married her 1st cousin, William "Bill" Leslie Slater who was the son of her father's brother, Abraham "Abe" Lincoln Slater and Matilda Hancock. Dora used the name Dora "Hines" as her maiden name when she married Bill. She also changed her parent's names to "Hines" on the wedding forms.

Dora next married William Leslie Slater, son of Abraham Leslie Slater and Matilda M Hancock, in 1901. (William Leslie Slater was born in 1885 and died in 1973 in Mather, WI, Pine Grove Cemetery.)
