Armenta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a retired public school teacher, a Phi Delta Kappa and a member of the Methodist church. Armenta belonged to multiple organizations including the Mesquite Education Association, the Mesquite Retired Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association as a life-time member, the PTA and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her son: Carl Bendorf of Sachse, TX; daughter: Carolyn Vandeventer of Sulphur Springs, TX; daughter-in-law: Sheri Bendorf of Royse City, TX; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Armenta was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Stan Bendorf; husband: James Lancaster; and son: Gary Bendorf.

Ilma married Stanley Glen Bendorf, son of John Ernest Bendorf and Leta Mae Gelbach, on 4 Jun 1944. The marriage ended in divorce on 7 Dec 1970.
