1. Obituary. John McDonald, a long time resident and highly respected citizen of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, of a heart attack. He fell dead while standing by the wood pile in the yard. Mr. McDonald was of Scotch parentage, and a native of Michigan., born March 17, 1857, so would have been 81 his next birthday. He is survived by his widow, the former Victoria Ellis, who is an invalid. They had 4 sons and 4 daughters; one daughter, Mrs. Neal Phinney, passing away several months ago. The survivors are Robert of North Lancaster, Floyd of Potosi, Tom of Des Moines, Ia., John of New York City, Mrs. Elmer Bryhan at home; Mrs Cummins of Platteville and Minnie ofMilwaukee. Funeral services were held at the Hoskins funeral home on Friday afternoon with Rev JA Vincent officiating andburial in the Boice Prairie Cemetery. John married Victoria Ellis. (Victoria Ellis was born on 12 Nov 1866 in Potosi, WI, died on 14 Jan 1940 in Lancaster, WI and was buried in Hurricane, WI, Boice Creek Cemetery.) |
