1. Obituary. Married first, Maie Bruce Douglas, 31 Jan 1903, in Fargo, ND (divorced 1910). They had three sons: Bruce Douglas Rindlaub, John Douglas, and Newhall Douglas (the two younger sons dropped the surname Rindlaub after their parents' contentious divorce).

Married second, Maude Ellen Riley (separated). No children.

From the Wisconsin State Journal, March 14, 1950:

The body of Dr. John H. Rindlaub, 84, Fargo, N.D., North Dakota's first ear, eye, nose, and throat specialist, will be returned to Platteville today for burial at 3 p.m. in the family mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements are being made by the Thomas funeral home. Dr. Rindlaub, who was born in Lancaster, died suddenly Sunday at his home in Fargo.

He had been a resident of North Dakota for 53 years. Dr. Rindlaub was graduated from the Platteville Normal School and medical schools in Washington, D.C. and Vienna, Austria.

Survivors include two sons, Col. Bruce, Washington D.C., and Newhall, New York City; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Robertson, Platteville, and Dr. Elizabeth Rindlaub and Mrs. John D. Wooledge, both of Fargo, and one grandchild.
