1. Obituary. Myrtle Babcock Allen, 86, died April 2, 1999 of natural causes in Klamath Falls.

Mrs. Allen was born in Scott Township, Wisconsin to William and Melva (Davis) Babcock. She also attended schools in Scott Township. She married Lester Allen on May 26, 1928, in Norway Ridge, Wis.

They moved to Eugene, OR in 1936, to Klamath Falls from 1946 to 1948, to Ashland, Dallas, Irrigon and back to Klamath Falls in 1984.

In Klamath Falls, Mrs. Allen worked as a practical nurse at Klamath Valley Hospital and the Hillside Hospital.

Throughout their married life, she and her husband cared for foster care children with special needs. She also worked in specialized care with terminally ill patients. Among her interests were quilting, sewing, gardening, and crocheting.

Mrs. Allen was a charter member of Shasta Way Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for several years in Klamath Falls and Ashland.

Survivors include her sons and daughers-in-law, Bob and Lucy Allen of Big Bend, Calif., Kenneth and Dixie Allen of Haugan, Mont., and Lester and Shirley Allen Jr. of King City; daugher and son-in-law Pat and Dale Reed of Oakridge; daughter Suzanne Allen of Klamath Falls; brothers, Garland Babcock of Anchorage, Alaska, William Babcock of Walton and Warren Babcock of Monterey, Calif.; 28 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Phyllis, a great granddaughter, Jacquline Hughes, two sisters and two brothers.
