Funeral services will be at Noon, Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Burial will be at Lima Union Cemetery. Jeanette was born on March 10, 1932 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of Ernest and Helen (McClurg) Butson. She was united in marriage to Donald Bevan on October 22, 1949 at the Whig United Methodist Church, rural Platteville. Following their adventurous honeymoon, they moved to the Bevan Family Farm where they still reside. Jeanette was a member of the Lima Congregational Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She and Don square danced when they were younger. She loved living on the farm where she enjoyed raising her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Jeanette looked forward to morning coffee with her children. There wasn't a day that went by without a visit from one of her family members, especially her grandson Jamie. She had a passion for sewing, she made her own wedding dress and her children's clothes. She loved tending to her flower gardens, and she was very talented at making floral arrangements. She loved doing puzzles, watching birds, squirrels, her cat "Boots" and dog "Pepper". She always enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino with Don.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 73 years, Don; two children, Jeff (Peggi) Bevan, and Sue (Dave) Hanson; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bevan; six grandchildren, Jamie (Sonja Barth) Bevan, Marty (Molly) Bevan, Shawn Bevan, Jason (Jackie) Bevan, Amber (Joe) Majerus and Darcy Bevan; eight great-grandchildren, Heather (Andy) Tysma, Bryce, Breyden, Mya and Bianca Bevan, Emily, Alexandria and Olivia Majerus; two great-great-grandchildren, Jax and Kira Tysma; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son David, her parents Ernest and Helen Butson, father and mother-in-law, Hurus and Mae Bevan, sister, Eleanor Olthafer, brother, Kenny Butson, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Jeanette married Donald Bevan on 22 Oct 1949.
