PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Eleanor M. Olthafer, 87, of Platteville, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Bloomfield Manor, rural Dodgeville.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville, with the Rev. Jeff Pedersen officiating. Private family burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the church. Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, is in charge of arrangements.
Eleanor was born on March 27, 1924, in Platteville, daughter of Ernest and Helen (McClerg) Butson. She married Clifford Olthafer on Jan. 12, 1944, at the Lutheran parsonage, Belmont.
Eleanor was an active member of the Lutheran Church of Peace, where she was active in many church activities and always was preparing food for church functions.
Surviving are her husband, Clifford, of Platteville; a daughter, Mary Ann (Richard) Petrak, of Dodgeville; two grandchildren, Thomas (Melissa) Petrak and Rebecca Davis, both of the San Diego area; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kaelyn and Kyle; and a sister, Jeanette (Donald) Bevan, of Platteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Butson, and his wife, Edith.
