1. Miscellaneous. I believe that Alta May Trotter, buried in LEWIS Cem., may be his child. { 100192782 } She is buried near her grandmother Isabelle { 100192743 } and her son William is noted as living in the same county. She would fit in between Angie & Ada, and would never be in any census as she lived only one year. Contributor: McFarland (47349869)
William Trotter, one of the old residents of this vicinity, died at his home in Woodford on Sunday last aged 73 years, 3 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Stephenson County, Ill., Oct. 5, 1839, and came with his parents to the town of Jordan in Green County when he was about two years of age, and with the exception of a year spent in Kansas, the remainder of his life was spent in this vicinity. In 1862 he was married to Miss Calista Sawin, and to them eleven children were born, seven of whom are still living. They are Ada McDaniel of Kansas, Stella Peterson of Wyoming, Earl Trotter of Adams, Della Figi of Jordan, Geneva Scott of Adams, Ida Scott of Wiota, and Roy who is living at home. Mr. Trotter was an ordained minister in the Christian church, and previous to joining that church had preached for the Advent Church. He had been in poor health for three years and death came as a welcome relief to him. The funeral was held at Woodford on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Pengilly of Argyle.
