Found dead. Our usual quiet town was startled last Sunday by the report that Mr. Schmidt, a respected German farmer of this place, had been found dead. Mr. Schmidt, it appears had walked to Darlington the day previous and returning home late had lost his way and becoming exhausted had lain down to rest, and perished from the cold. The unfortunate man was found the next morning within a short distance of his house, by a neighbor who was passing. Both arms and feet frozen. Deceased was over 70 years of age, and well-to-do and respected.

John married Katherine Gabel.
