Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at First English Lutheran Church, Platteville. Rev. Michael Short will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 5:00 \endash 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Genevieve F. Olson Memorial Fund.
Genevieve was born in Harrison Township, Grant County, the daughter of Christian and Ella (Russell) Heer. She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Olson on March 30, 1946 at First English Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2007. Gen worked at Burgess Battery Factory before getting married. After getting married she worked with her husband, Ken, on their farm, and baby sat for neighbors. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church where she was a very active member. She for many years helped with funeral dinners, and she quilted and sewed with fellow members of the church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Nancy on August 8, 2011, brothers, David, John, Ralph and James; sister, Ruth Nodolph.

Genevieve married Kenneth Lavern Olson. (Kenneth Lavern Olson was born on 12 Jul 1926 and was buried in Platteville, WI, Greenwood Cemetery.)
