1. Obituary. On Wednesday, September 22 in the early morning, Rebecca "Becky" Ann Engelkes of Plover, went to her eternal home to be united face to face with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully in her home with loving family by her side.

Originally from Platteville Wi., Rebecca was the youngest of 9 children born to Edward and Marie (Gant) Carns.

On July 17th 1987, Becky married her long-time best friend and high school sweetheart Michael J. Engelkes. Becky loved being a wife. In the fall of 1993 work relocated them to Central Wisconsin where they settled here in Plover. After relocating, Becky spent several years working for Rice Medical Clinic and Saint Michaels Hospital. In September 1999 and again in February 2002 the family was blessed with the births of their two sons, Isaac Bradley and Nathan Michael. Becky loved being a mom.

As the boys approached school age Becky quit her job and homeschooled the boys until Jr. High when they then enrolled in the Stevens Point School district. Becky loved teaching the boys.

Becky then started cleaning area homes which allowed her the flexibility to set her own schedule and always be available to see the boys off to school and be home to greet them when they returned. She loved the cleaning but the customers/friends she was able to serve and minister to was what she enjoyed most. As she served each one a mutual respect and admiration grew with each customer, and she became so much more than someone who cleans houses but rather, a close friend. As one customer said, "Becky always brought out the best in everyone she met." Becky loved being a friend.

As much as Becky loved being a wife, mom, and friend, her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was her true first love. Starting each morning with her Bible on her lap and coffee in her hands, she fellowshipped with Him and received instruction. She well understood she could never be a complete wife, mother or friend if her relationship with Him was not her first focus.

Becky simply loved any activity or time with family and friends. She loved to cook, entertain friends and family, spend time outside and eventually grew to love sitting down and watching some college football with her boys on Saturday afternoons in the fall.

Rebecca is survived by; her beloved husband Michael; sons, Isaac and Nathan; her brothers, Larry (Karen) Carns, Dan (Deb) Carns and Paul Carns, Dennis (Tari) Carns and brother-in-law Tom Markley; sisters, Diane (Roger) Rees, Kathy (Pete) Langlois and Lisa (Gary) Landsverk; mother-in-law Charlotte (John) Engelkes, brothers-in-law Brian (Jill) Engelkes, and Chad (Jessica) Engelkes; numerous nephews and nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

Rebecca was proceeded in death by; her parents; sister, Donna Markley; her father-in law, John W. Engelkes; and her brother-in law Bradley A. Engelkes.

The family would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the doctors and staff that looked after Becky these last years and especially the staff on 5 North at the Marshfield Hospital who ministered to her in her final days there.

A Celebration of Rebecca's life will be held at Woodlands Church, 190 Hoover Dr., Plover, WI 54467 at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021.
