1. Obituary. Mr. Jeffrey L. Butson, passed away peacefully at his home in Platteville on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at the age of 65 years 11 months and 25 days. Jeff, the son of Donald and Bette (Hardy) Butson, was born in Cuba City, Wisconsin, on October 4, 1949. He was a 1967 graduate of Platteville High School.
Jeff served in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969 with the 4th Infantry Division, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon his discharge, he returned to Platteville and enrolled at UW Platteville.
Shortly after his 21st birthday Jeff was paralyzed as a result of a car accident. He never complained about his condition and did not let his disability control his life. He returned to college, graduating in 1977, and was then employed by the Public Service Commission in Madison until his retirement.
His attitude toward life was a true inspiration to all who knew him.
