1. Obituary. PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Mary L. Goodell, 95, of Platteville, died Wednesday, July 16, 2009, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, with Monsignor Charles Schluter officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1913, in Platteville, daughter of Richard A. and Cynthia (Thomas) Goodell. As a young lady she enjoyed horseback riding.
Mary taught school at Hanmer Robbins, Platteville, for a few years. She then worked for Robert Block Law office as a legal secretary until her retirement.
Surviving are her good friend, David Burkholder, of Platteville; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard T. Goodell, on July 11, 1997.
