1. Obituary. James B. Pollar of Schaller Called Funeral of Aged Pioneer held Monday Afternoon The community was saddened when word was passed around of the death of J.B.
Poller. Services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church and internment in the Schaller Cemetery.
James Borah, Pollar, the son of John Henry and Nancy Pollar was born November 11,1840 near Platteville, Grant County, Wisconsin. On December
23, 1872 he married Miss Martha H. Stanton. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Mable Kerns of Avalon, Mo; Mrs Nagel of Ramona, S. Dakota; Mrs. Gertrude Howell of Charles City; and William Pollar of Alta.
His wife passed on to her reward November 16, 1887. He was married to Mrs.
Myra Moffet Wallace on October 8,1889. Besides his widow and children he is survived by his aged brother, Henry of Platteville, Wisconsin and his sister, Mrs. Mary Vannetta of LeMars, Iowa, also 15 grandchildren and one great grandchildren.
In the spring of 1884 he with his family moved from Wisconsin to a farm four miles north and and east of Schaller. His hard labor and the economy shattered is integrity, which was the confidence of those with whom he had business relations, he was able to pass through the financial distress of early years of his struggles here. In 1908 he and Mrs. Pollar moved and made this their present home in Schaller. He became a member of the Presbyterian Church in Schaller and was a loyal supporter and attender.
Mr. Pollar went to his death on Saturday morning, April 28th.
