Gene W. Welk, age 90, of Menomonie died Tue., Feb. 8, 2005 at the Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie.

Gene was born on November 28, 1914 in Green Lake, WI to Edward and Emma (Kohnke) Welk. He married Mildred Hintzman on May 17, 1937 in Menomonie.
Gene was a dairy farmer for many years in Dunn County. He liked to fish, tend to his flowers, work in his shop and enjoyed model trains.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Sat., Feb. 12, 2005 at New Life Church of the Nazarene in Wheeler with the Rev. Steve Crites officiating. Burial in Sherman Cemetery, Twp. of Sherman. Family and friends are welcome form 10:00 AM until time of services Sat. at the church.

Gene married Mildred L Hintzman, daughter of Alie A Hintzman and Theresa Schultz, on 17 May 1937. (Mildred L Hintzman was born in 1916 and was buried in Wheeler, WI, Sherman Cemetery.)
