Knapp, WI - Curtis C. Mittelstadt, 69, Route 1, Knapp, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1993 at his home.

Curtis was born in rural Colfax May 31, 1923 to Clifford and Nora (Maukstad) Mittelstadt. He married Lucille Herington December 21, 1943. They spent their early years on a ranch in Wyoming. In 1947 they came home to Knapp and have farmed there since. Curtis enjoyed farming and his beef cow herd. He was feeding hay to his cattle when his heart failed him. Curtis believed we all have daily responsibilities to fulfill. He felt it's not just doing them than counts; it's how well you did them. He served the town of Stanton as chairman since April of 1989.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille of Knapp, a son, Perry (Terrie) Mittelstadt of Fort Collins, Colorado; two daughters, Gayle Mittelstadt of Scottsdale, Arizona; Dr. Jeanne (Jim) Schroeder of Eau Claire; four brothers, Gale (Bette) of Parkman, Wyoming, Gordon (Bl anche) of Colfax, Charles (Shirley) of Boyceville, Bill (Carol) of Boyceville , five sisters, Lorraine Johnson of Durand, Fern (Glen) Peck of Clinton, Mississippi, Carol (Raymond) Welk of Leesburg, Florida, Lois (Bob) Bosshart of Boyceville, Carolyn (Marty) Grivich of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, February 5th at United Methodist Church in Knapp, with the Rev. Walter Meachum officiating. Burial will be in Teegarden Cemetery, rural Knapp.
