John Henry Dumey (aka Jean Henri Dumez) was born in Ster, Francorchamps, Leige Province, Belguim in 1811, his sister Anna Maria was born in 1803; their parents were Jean Henri Dumez 1765-1835 of Ster, and Marie Jeanne Dumez (Lallemont) 1778-1852 of Ster. Jean Henri's Parents were Henri Jacques Dumez 1735-1796, of Ster, and Marie
Dumez (Sody) 1740-1800.

Anna Maria Dumey married Henry Joseph Dohogne 1803-1878, of Ster, Belguim, and had five children. John Henry Dumey married Marie Ann Dohogne 1811-1875, of Ster, Belguim sister of above Henry Josheph Dohogne. They had eight children.

Both families immigrated in about 1846 to Ohio, USA, and then relocated between 1848-1849 to the southeast area of Missouri, near New Hamburg, Scott County. They lived and farmed in the area for generations. John Henry Dumey died in 1874, New Hamburg, MO, and Anna Maria Dohogne (Dumey) died in 1868 in New Hamburg, MO.
