• Obituary. LA CROSSE TRIBUNE AND LEADER PRESS, La Crosse, Wisconsin, Friday, September 19, 1941, Page 5: Mrs. John Cook Viola, Wis. \emdash (Special) \emdash Mrs. John Cook died late Wednesday at the home of her son Keith Cook near West Lima where she was visiting.
As Nettie Griffin, daughter of Samuel and Ruanne Griffin, she was born June 13, 1879 in the town of Bloom, near West Lima.
She was married Dec. 27, 1896 to John Cook and they resided on a farm in the West Lima vicinity until moving to La Crosse in 1923, where they lived for 15 years.
About three years ago, they came to Viola where they have since been residents, occupying the upper flat in the Guy Dobson house.
Mrs. Cook was an active member of Justin Dake Chapter W.R.C.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Keith Cook, West Lima, and Mrs. George Shaker (Freda), Eau Claire; one brother Mills R. Griffin, Viola; a half brother and a half sister, Otto Griffin and Mrs. Josie Morgan, both of West Lima.
Time of the funeral services had not been definitely set late yesterday, but rites will be held in the Viola United Brethern church with Interment in the Viola cemetery.


Nettie married John Cook. (John Cook was born on 20 Jan 1877 and was buried in Viola, WI, Viola Cemetery.)
