Catharina Ginserin

  Noted events in her life were:

• Miscellaneous. Catharina married Friedrich Reiss on July 14, 1773 in Frederick Co., Maryland after the death of Friedrich's first wife Christina. Catharina and Friedrich relocated from Frederick Co., Maryland to Cumberland Valley Township in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania where they settled a farm and lived out the remainder of their lives. The two stones marked F. R. and S. R. in the cemetery description were Friedrich / Frederick Jr. and wife Susannah's original headstones with their memorial marker mentioned being set at a later date. Catharina and Friedrich Sr's headstones were likely two of the three adult stones listed in the cemetery description. Catharina's death occurred after Friedrich's and can be confirmed by Friedrich's will. Uncertain at this time whether Friedrich and Catharina purchased their farm property or if it was acquired through a Revolutionary War Bounty Land Warrant.

Catharina married Friedrich Reiss on 14 Jul 1773. (Friedrich Reiss was born in 1727 in France, died on 26 Dec 1808 and was buried in Cumberland Valley Twn, PA, Frederick Rice Farm Cemetery.)
