• Miscellaneous. She was baptized at Epping, Co.Essex on 2 Apr 1598, a daughter of William Wood (1560/1-1631) and Mary (Stracy) Wood. William and Mary were married at Epping on 25 Feb 1589/90.
Martha married James Beard on 19 June 1623 at Epping, Co.Essex. He was baptized at Great Perndon, Co.Essex on 8 Aug 1585, a son of John Beard and Agnes (Adams) Rime Beard. He died in late 1639 or early 1640.
~MY ANCESTOR~
MARTHA and her husband, JAMES BEARD, probably came over from England on the good ship, MARTIN. It is believed that James died during the passage over and was buried at sea. Widow Beard received extra land during the Milford division due to her "affliction". Her homelot was #54 and was located on Broad Street. Her daughter, SARAH BEARD, who married NICHOLAS CAMP, JR., was my ancestor.
