  Noted events in his life were:

• Miscellaneous. Emigrated with his wife and children to the USA in 1849 on the emigrant ship, Guy Mannering, which sailed from Liverpool on 22 May 1848 and arrived in New York on 28 June 1848. The Guy Mannering was launched in March 1849 at New York and this was her first east-west voyage.

He and Anna Coulson married in 1834.
