1. Miscellaneous. William Hickox left England just a few years before the Civil War broke out in 1645. Enbarked on the "Plaine Jane" which sailed from London for the North Continent, 15 May 1635. Recorded in New Haven, Ct., moved to Hartford in 1643, settling in Farmington, Connecticut where he was one of the original settlers. After a hard life as a farmer he died in about 1645, leaving Elizabeth a widow and his two son's, Samuel and Joseph. Both son's were born in Farmington, Ct. William married Elizabeth Stacy. (Elizabeth Stacy was born in 1624 in Harwich, Tendring District, Essex, England and died on 3 Aug 1655 in Farmington, CT.)
