1. Obituary. Rev. Harold W. Zart was gathered home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born on a dairy farm in Stitzer, Wisconsin to Henry and Lela Zart on June 17, 1922. He began his ministry serving 2 country Methodist churches while attending Taylor University. After graduating, he served other churches in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He was appointed as the Superintendent of the Northwest District of the Minnesota Annual Conference (an area the size of the state of Indiana) in 1980. He retired in 1985 and moved to Sevierville. Since moving to Tennessee he had preached at 17 different churches and filled in twice in the absence of a regular pastor.
He was an active part of the Sevierville Methodist Church for the last 26 years. He also served for 11 years on the Foster Care Review Board. He enjoyed working with wood and made furniture, clocks, bowls, and in later years, crosses. He loved the church and its people and he loved Sevier County.
He was married to Dorothy McFall for 63 years before she died in 2005. He is survived by his daughter Sally and her husband, Ronnie Shell, whom he was happy to call son. He had two grandchildren, John Shell and wife Andrea, and Sarah and husband Matt Libby and four great grandchildren, Andrew and Hannah Shell and Maggie and Sophie Libby. His brother David predeceased him and a sister, Elaine Keller of Stitzer, Wisconsin survives him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Building Fund of Sevierville First United Methodist Church, 214 Cedar St., Sevierville, Tennessee

Harold married Dorothy Marian McFall, daughter of George Elwood McFall and Eunice Jane Gollmer, on 12 Aug 1942 in Platteville, WI, Whig Methodist Church. (Dorothy Marian McFall was born on 23 Dec 1918 in Harrison Township, Grant County, WI, died on 1 Feb 2005 in Sevierville, TN and was buried in Sevierville, TN, Middle Creek Cemetery.)
