1. Obituary. David P. Zart, Sr., 84, died Monday, December 19, 2011. He fought a short and courageous battle with a recently diagnosed genetic disease.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lela Zart of Wisconsin.

David was born June 17, 1927 in Wisconsin. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He began a career in business with The Ford Motor Company then went to work for Firestone Steel Products for 25 years where he became President. He then moved to Ft. Myers, FL where he was a realtor for VIP Realty and became sales manager. He finally retired in 2000 to Sevierville, TN where he could be closer to his brother.

David was a dedicated, devoted husband and leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Barbara, a resident of Sevier County Health Care Center. The family would like to thank everyone at LeConte Medical Center for their compassion in making his last days comfortable and for communicating and comforting David and Phyllis so honestly throughout this challenge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either LeConte Medical Center via Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation, P.O. Box 4395, Sevierville, TN, 37864 or First United Methodist Church, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville, TN, 37862.

Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27th at the First United Methodist Church, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville with interment to follow in Middle Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

David married Barbara Jean Clifton. (Barbara Jean Clifton was buried in Sevierville, TN, Middle Creek Cemetery.)
