1. Obituary. Clarence A. Chapman, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2004, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born April 21, 1914, to Robert Roy and Ada (Bowling) Chapman in Crane, Stone County, Missouri. At an early age, the family moved to Wisconsin where he grew up. Clarence was the oldest of 8 Children. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. from 1933 to 1938 as head cook. Clarence married Mildred C. Anderson on July 15, 1940 in Springfield, Missouri and they Celebrated 63 years of marriage last summer. They moved to Orondo in 1952, where they owned and operated an orchard for 50 years. They moved to Colonial Vista Apartments in 2001. Clarence celebrated his 90th Birthday in April.
Clarence was a member of the Orondo Community Church. He loved all sports, with baseball being his favorite, ( Mariners and Cardinals his favorite teams ). He played semi-pro baseball in his early years. Also, he loved cooking and gardening. His compassion and love for his family and friends was beyond measure. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Wenatchee; three children, Gary Chapman of Des Moines, Iowa; Carolyn Adams of Malaga, Washington; Connie Prynne of Gig Harbor, Washington; 8 grandchildren, 9 ggrandchildren and 3 gggrandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Wenatchee and Maxine Wallace of Omak, Washington; and one brother, Robert Chapman of Republic, Greene County, Missouri, Missouri.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 27, 2004 at Orodno Community Church with a grave side service prior at 10:00 a.m. at Orondo Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Betts Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be make to the Orondo Community Church, Orondo, Washington. Arrangements are under the care of Betts Funeral Service.

Clarence married Mildred Carolyn Anderson. (Mildred Carolyn Anderson was born on 15 Oct 1917 and was buried in Orondo, WA, Orondo Community Cemetery.)
