She was born March 21, 1951, in Lancaster, Wis., to Calvin and Ruth (Budack) Bendorf. Sharon married Keith Eikstadt on June 27, 2006, in Freeport.

Sharon served as administrative assistant to the Sheriff of Stephenson County for 13 years.

She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Lena.

Her pastimes included reading, writing stories, gardening and watching nature out of the back window of her home.

Sharon was one of the founding members of the Women's Slow Pitch Softball League and was a team member on the "Pink Flamingos." She was a member of a bowling team and always enjoyed spending time with the "Bowling Girls."

Sharon's greatest loves were keeping in touch with her children and being with friends and family. She is best known for her "light-up the room" smile and ability to find good in everyone and everything.
