PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Jo Ann Brown, 62, of Grand Junction, Colo., formerly of Platteville, died Friday, July 13, 2007, with her family by her side at her home in Grand Junction.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crossroads United Methodist Church, Grand Junction. Services also will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whig United Methodist Church, rural Platteville, with burial in the Whig Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, 1245 N. Water St.,
Platteville. Friends also may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1944, in Platteville, daughter of Byron and Honor (Culver) Stephens.
She was devoted to God and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor.
Jo Ann was an active member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, and loved to quilt, bowl, sing, watch sports and spend time with her two grandchildren. She was particularly proud of her perseverance in battling cancer for sixteen years.
Surviving are her husband, David; sons, Derek (MaryAnne), Jeremy (Barbara), and Justin Brown, all of Grand Junction; brothers, Stephen (Constance) Stephens, of Platteville, and Amo (Nancy) Stephens, of Afton, Wyo.; a grandson, Sidney; and a granddaughter, Tatum.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial donations may be given to the Gideons Bible Society or Haiti Children's Hospital c/o Crossroads UMC.
