1. Miscellaneous. It is stated in the John Stone Family Genealogy that the first ship, the St. John, commanded by Captain Russell, sailed from England on May 20, 1639, and arrived at New Haven between July 10th and 15th, 1639. The list of persons (in alphabetical order) who are believed to have come in this ship and to have settled, with few exceptions, in Guilford is as follows:
