Samuel L. Griffin, age 81, passed away Saturday at home with his wife and children by his side. Sam was born in Monroe County, WI, on July 28, 1935, son of the late Adeline (Nee: Tuttle) and Samuel Griffin. Sam graduated from John Edward's High School in Port Edwards WI.

On December 18, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joanne Frey at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel, WI. Sam was employed by Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company for ten years, and relocated to Racine in 1963 where he was employed with J.I. Case Company for thirty-four years. He was a member St. John's Lutheran Church and J.I. Case Company "20 Year Club". He enjoyed woodworking, camping, hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing, travelling, and spending winters in Texas until his health failed. Sam was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Joanne; his children, Debbie (Bill) Boucher, Mike (Jo) Griffin, Robin (Ron) Kitzinger, Brian (Robin) Griffin; granddaughter, Stacy Schroeder; sister, Elaine Morrison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie St, on Thursday March 2, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Samuel married Joanne Frey on 18 Dec 1954. (Joanne Frey was born on 1 May 1938.)
