1. Obituary. Mr. Charles A. Genthe, 58, of Platteville died Thursday, Jan 31, 1974 at the Platteville Municipal Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Genthe was born in Platteville March 26, 1915. He received his education in the Platteville Public Schools. He was united in marriage to the former Grace Edwards on March 6, 1940. They farmed between Mineral Point and Darlington for 15 years and moved to Platteville in 1957. Mr. Genthe was then employed at the V.C. Chemical Plant and for the past two years has been employed at the County Seedman. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Platteville.

Surviving are his wife, Grace, one son, Lynn, Gratiot, one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Barbara) Abing, Platteville, his mother, Mrs. Mabel Genthe, Platteville, 10 grandchildren, six brothers, George, Roger, and Frank, all of Platteville, Robert, LeRoy, and Harold, all of Cuba City, and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Virginia) Wenzel, Platteville.

Funeral services were Saturday afternoon at the Mergen Funeral Home with the Rev. R.R. Doering officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
