1. Obituary. Donald Junior Parker

75, of Milwaukee, WI, family man, recreational farmer, horse enthusiast and world traveler, died on Monday October 7th at 11:25 PM after a long and brave fight in critical care. Donnie was a God fearing man, baptized and active member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Donnie grew up modestly in a family of 20 in Mather, Wisconsin, he was proud of his parent's resourcefulness and remained close with his family throughout his entire life. Donnie married Sally Harris at age 24 and they have been married for 52 years, they have 5 children; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Donnie was a dedicated serviceman; 4 years in the Navy and 4 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a mail carrier for 28 years.

He was an amateur boxer in the Navy and enjoyed watching a good old-fashioned brawl whenever possible. Donnie was an active hunter and loved to be up North in the country whenever health permitted. He believed in an equal balance of hard work and play. He sometimes worked 3 jobs to support his family of 7 but never resented his efforts;. Donnie was a notorious peacekeeper; he would often withhold his personal convictions to maintain relationships with those who thought differently than he did and he often put his own ego aside for the greater good. He always hoped for peace among all of his loved ones but did not put himself in the middle of disputes; he simply prayed for resolution. Donnie disliked boastfulness in every way, he would make a rare exception for a child or grandchild but only when he was particularly proud and rarely to their face.

He is survived by his wife, Sally, his children, Donald Jr. (Natalie) Kimberly (Gary), Roxanne (Glenn) Christine (Rudy) and Kelly (Doug) Preceded by parents Don Leon Parker and Leona Florence Parker and his dear brother Edward.

Grandchildren: Triston, Matthew, Shara, Donald Jay Jr., Courtney, Alexis, Cierra, Aleah, Sasha Leona, Joey and Hannah. Great Grandchildren: Brianna, Brooke, Chase, Parker, Lila, Sterling, Mila and Eli.

Siblings: Donna, Delores (Bob), Verlin (Marion), Norma (John), Larry (Elizabeth), Carol, Shirley (Clinton), Sharon (Bill), Cindy (Dan), Mary Kay (Dan), Linda (Bill), Rita (Pat), Pattie (Lewis), Dennis (Tammy), Denise (Greg) and Alan.

Donnie's one true love was his vivacious wife, Sally Parker, followed by a very close second, his belated adoring sweet mom, Leona Parker. Donnie liked a fun trip with family to the casino or playing cards at home, traveling with his family, going to a good movie, watching an eventful horse race and reminiscing with family and friends over memories of days gone by. He enjoyed leaving the legacy of a large and devoted family for generations to come; he wanted to share his parent's story/his story/our story.

Memorial visitation Friday October 11, 2013 At St. John Ev. Lutheran Church 7809 Harwood Ave. Wauwatosa from 3:00 PM until time of Memorial Service at 5:00 PM. -
