1. Miscellaneous. Consort of Gideon Lyman

Daughter of John King and Mehitable Pomeroy

Catharine King was the daughter of John King and Mehitable Pomperoy. Her birth record in Northampton records show her name as "Katron King".

She first married James Hickcock (Hickox, Hescock) 1700-1725 on 17 Nov 1724 in Northampton, MA. Their marriage did not last long, he died a few months later in 1725. They had no issue.

Widowed Catharine Hickock remarried to widowed Lieut. Nathaniel Phelps, son of Deac. Nathaniel Phelps and Grace Martin. He had 4 young children from his previous marriage: Charles Phelps, Nathaniel Phelps, and twins Ann Phelps and Martin Phelps.

Catharine and Nathaniel Phelps had 4 children together:
1. Catharine Phelps, m. Simeon Parsons (Phelps & Servin, Vol 1., pg. 130 says she married Samuel Parsons but that is incorrect).

2. Lydia Phelps, m. Eleazer Pomeroy

3. John Phelps, m. Mary Ashley

4. Mehitable Phelps, died in infancy.

After Nathaniel died in 1747 in Northampton, MA, she remarried to widowed Gideon Lyman, marriage date unknown.

Catherine King Phelps was a gownmaker. She is mentioned in this book The Needle's Eye: Women and Work in the Age of Revolution by Marla R. Miller. (google on the book)
