PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- Celesta M. Brunton, 88, of Platteville, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville, with Monsignor Charles Schluter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, where there will be a scripture wake service at 7:45 p.m. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

She was born on May 22, 1921, in Platteville, daughter of Clyde and Theresa (Holtzer) Wilkinson. She married Frank Brunton in 1944; he preceded her in death.

She farmed with Frank on the family farm on County Trunk "O" and she later worked at Advance Transformer Co. in Platteville.

Celesta enjoyed fishing in her spare time and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Francis "Fran" (Joellen) Brunton, of Platteville; a daughter, Ann Brodie, of Platteville; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh Butson) Brodie, Michelle (Bill) Zasada and Sherri (Jason) Timmerman, all of Platteville, Bill (Kelli) Brunton, of Monroe, and Mike (Michele) Brunton, of Platteville; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Roy Malinowski, of California.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Delores.

Celesta married Frank Brunton, son of Charles Brunton and Mary Jean Habel. (Frank Brunton was born on 25 Jun 1893 and was buried in Platteville, WI, Calvary Cemetery.)
