1. Obituary. Ann Marie Brodie, 75, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 19, 2024, with her beloved daughter by her side.

Ann was born on September 22, 1948, in Platteville, Wisconsin, to Frank and Celeste (Wilkinson) Brunton. Ann attended a one room schoolhouse in Cornelia then went on to St Marys Catholic School until 8th grade. Ann graduated in 1966 from the Platteville High School.

After high school she left the farm and moved to the big city of Freeport Il. There she worked as a meter maid. While in Freeport, she met Rich Brodien and together they welcomed their daughter. Ann and Rich married in 1979 after moving to Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Ann volunteered for Camp Fire Girls which landed her a job in their office. She worked there for several years until moving back to her old stomping grounds of Platteville in the late 80's. She started working at Advance Transformer in Platteville until its closure, and subsequently earned her associate's degree in information Processing from SWTC in Fennimore. Ann then worked at Advance Date Comm in Dubuque until her retirement.

Outside of work, Ann had a passion for caring for her "Critters," enjoying peaceful fishing trips, and exploring the countryside. Her greatest joy, however, was found in the company of her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished.

Ann is survived by her loving daughter, three grandchildren, brother, sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Celeste Brunton.

Ann will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Ann's memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Platteville at a later date.

Ann married Rich Brodie in 1979.
