With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Edwin Gollmer of Lena, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Edwin left this world on September 30, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Edwin leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Edwin may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Gollmer and Veva Gollmer (Sigafus); his wife Kathleen Hintz; and his significant other Donna McGinnis French. He is survived by: his son Brian Gollmer (Mary) of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Kylie; and his siblings, Richard Gollmer of Forreston, IL and Diane Wubbena of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

• Obituary. Edwin R. Gollmer, 83, a longtime Freeport and Lena resident, passed away on September 30, 2025 at the Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. Ed was born on May 3, 1942 in Apple River, IL, the son of Ray and Veva (Sigafus) Gollmer. He married Kathleen Hintz on April 7, 1970 in Los Gatos, California and she preceded him in death on August 23, 2003. Edwin served his country as a member of the Army 101st Airborne Division from1967-1969 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Kathleen. Interment at the Lena Burial Park.

Edwin married Kathleen Kay Hintz, daughter of Frederick A Hintz and Lucille R Schadle. (Kathleen Kay Hintz was born on 20 Sep 1943 in Lena, IL, died on 23 Aug 2003 in Madison, WI and was buried in Lena, IL, Lena Burial Park.)
