Nelda Amanda (Lamb) Marquardt

Nelda Amanda (Lamb) Marquardt, age 73, of Wyeville, passed away peacefully at her home under the care of Hospice Touch and loving family and friends.

She was born Nelda Lamb on May 24, 1935, in the town of LaGrange, Monroe County, WI. She was the 20th of 21 children to Roy and Carrie Lamb (Griffin). After working in Racine County Home in Racine for nearly 10 years, she moved back to the central Wisconsin area in 1983, and worked at the Rolling Hills Nursing Home for another year and a half. She resided in Riceville (Wyeville) for the remainder of her life.

She married Jack Marquardt on Aug. 27, 1983, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2004. Nelda was a kind and compassionate person who cared for the elderly during her many years as a nurse's aide. She enjoyed tending her large flowerbeds outside her home, and was blessed with the ability to grow beautiful flowers and plants. In addition, she made flower arrangements and loved to work with crafts of all types.

To all those who truly knew Nelda, she was a loving soul who was always willing to help out family, friends and neighbors.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Carrie Lamb; and brothers and sisters, Mose Lamb, Mitchell Lamb, Vila Lamb, Melvin Lamb, Lee Lamb, Junior Lamb, Frank Lamb, Eldin Lamb, Milo Lamb, Bob Lamb, Gilbert Lamb, Goldie Gallagher, Helen Murphy, Gladyes Curtis, Bertha Lamb, Mertal Lamb, Sylvia Brown and Anna Quist.

She is survived by two brothers, Casper and Eithemer Lamb; and her nephew, Roy Brown, as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nelda wished to acknowledge her brother Casper and her nephew Roy and his wife Erica, in addition to special friends Cory and Lisa Sutton and Bob Conant for their help and support during times of need.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor John Ambelang will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Mather.

Family and friends are invited for visitation today (Monday), May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Nelda next married Robert Anderson. (Robert Anderson died on 17 Aug 1980 and was buried in Mather, WI, Pine Grove Cemetery.)

Nelda next married Jack W Marquardt, son of Jack Otto Marquardt and Marjorie, on 27 Aug 1983 in Spring Bank, WI. (Jack W Marquardt was born on 16 Apr 1943 in Eagle, WI, died on 12 Mar 2004 in Wyeville, WI and was buried in Mather, WI, Pine Grove Cemetery.)
