Robert Pierce, age 93, of Lancaster, formerly of Potosi, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Robert was born October 31, 1923, in Potosi Township the son of Leonard and Hannah (Koeller) Pierce. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Wieland on June 19, 1947. Together they farmed for 48 years in Waterloo Township where they raised their four sons: Norbert, Donald, Ronald, and Darwin. Robert was a very humble, hardworking man who had a love for the outdoors. If he wasn?t in the field making hay or planting the crops, you could usually find him on the bank of the river fishing, hunting, playing cards, bingo, or going to the casino. He always had a smile on his face.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, a sister Leona Friedman, a brother Leonard Jr. and a grandson Timothy Pierce, brothers-in-law Clarence Stoney, Gale Koelker, and Richard Krafjack.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Potosi is serving the family.

Robert married Evelyn Ellen Wieland, daughter of William Wieland and Opal Anna Hodoval, on 19 Jun 1945 in Lancaster, WI, Presbyterian Church. (Evelyn Ellen Wieland was born on 17 Dec 1926 in Potosi Township, WI, died on 17 Aug 2008 and was buried in Hurricane, WI, Hurricane Cemetery.)
