2. Obituary, 24 Jan 2012. Casper L. Lamb, age 79, of Wyeville, WI passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2012, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born November 20, 1932, to Gaylon and Carrie (Griffin) Lamb. Casper served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He was united in marriage to RoseMary Kirn, January 8, 1955, in Dearborn, MI.
Casper was a proud member of the American Legion in Tomah. NASCAR racing was a sport he loved a lot. So much that he and his son had a father/son racing team for nine years. He was also an avid fisherman. Casper had a true appreciation for music. He passed this love on to his children and grandchildren; and together they treasured many memories of making and enjoying music together.
Casper is survived by two daughters, Madonna Lamb of Tomah, WI and Victoria (Gary) McFall of Madison, WI; five sons, Casper "John" Lamb of Mauston, WI, David Lamb of Camp Douglas, WI, Bruce (Melonie) Lamb of Wyeville, WI, Charles (Betty) Lamb of Punta Gorda, FL, and Phillip Lamb of Wyeville, WI; 28 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, a brother, Eithemer Lamb of High Springs, FL; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Casper was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylon and Carrie, his wife, RoseMary in 2007, one son, Carl Lamb, and brothers and sisters, Melvin Lamb, Eldin Lamb, Frank Lamb, Gilbert Lamb, Moses Lamb, Mitchell Lamb, Milo Lamb, Lee Lamb, Viles Lamb, Junior Lamb, Bob Lamb, Goldie Gallagher, Helen Murphy, Gladys Curtis, Bertha Lamb, Myrtle Lamb, Sylvia Brown, Anna Quist and Nelda Marquardt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 27, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles will officiate. Burial with full military honors by the American Legion Post #201 will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Tomah American Legion Post #201, the Tomah Veterans Memorial, Tomah Hospice Touch or the Tomah VA Hospice program.
