A graveside service for Eleanor (Smith) Bendorf, 88, of Granville, will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Pastor Kenneth Brown officiating.

Eleanor went to be with her Lord on October 18, 2010 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1922 in Newark, OH to the late Guy and Esther (Hamilton) Fisher.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ross, son, Rod Smith, step-children, Paul (Nancy) Bendorf, Lowell (Pennysue) Bendorf and Marci Schwenn, numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces, Phyllis and Jean.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Darwin Smith and Leslie Bendorf, brother, Hamilton, sister, Milda Ellen and son-in-law, Dominick Ross.

Eleanor was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post #398 and the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church. She was employed at the Granville Times and Denison University Development Office.

She was a loving, generous, dedicated wife, mother and friend.

Friends may call on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.

A celebration service will be held at the Christian Endeavor U.M. Church following Sunday's worship service.

Nona next married Leslie Milton Bendorf, son of Lewis William Bendorf and Nellie Isabelle Wieland, on 16 Nov 1991 in Newark, OH. (Leslie Milton Bendorf was born on 2 Apr 1916 in Lancaster, WI, died on 19 Jan 2000 in Newark, OH and was buried in Lancaster, WI, Hillside Cemetery.)
