Donald Wienke Sr

1. Obituary: Daniels Family Funeral Homes & Crematory. Donald Wienke Sr., 75, of Burlington, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Hospital in Racine.

Born March 23, 1939, in Somers, WI, he was the son of Gustave and Lena (nee Lentz) Wienke. He spent his early life in Bristol where he attended school.

On June 3, 1961 he was united in marriage to Lelia May Griffin. Following marriage they made their home in Union Grove before moving to Waterford over 40 years ago. Lelia preceded him in death March 8, 2011.

Don was a farmer and also worked at and retired from JI Case. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Waterford, was in a CB Club, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He was an all around outdoorsman.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Hammiller, Rhonda (Rickie) Jones, Wanda (Dan) Hockman and Donald C. (Samantha) Wienke; grandchildren, Josh (Torrey) Hammiller, Tony (Laura) Hammiller, Daniel (Deanna) Ybarra, Kristen (Marvin) Mallett, Brittany Ybarra, Danielle (Bill Emery) Ramon, Amanda (Andrew) Manke, Ashley Wienke, DJ Wienke, Logan Wienke, Zoey Wienke; step grandchildren, Collin Getz and Aalyhia Getz. He also is survived by 10 great grandchildren and 3 on the way and a brother, John (Alice) Wienke.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Thomas Hammiller; sisters, Marion and Ruth.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and CNA's and hospice staff at Wheaton Franciscan in Racine.

Services will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Robert Bolling officiating. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6th from11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Burlington Cemetery following the service.

Donald married Lelia May Griffin, daughter of Samuel Leroy Griffin and Adeline Elsie Tuttle, on 3 Jun 1961 in Nekoosa, WI. (Lelia May Griffin was born on 29 Oct 1943 in LaGrange Township, WI, died on 8 Mar 2011 in Burlington, WI and was buried in Burlington, WI, Burlington Cemetery.)
