Rebecca Droullard was born Aug. 13, 1816 and died Feb. 27 , 1900 with burial at Guthrie, Okla. In the Grant County ce nsus of 1850 Rebecca was said to have been born in Ohio. Fr om the marriage record book of Jo Davies Co., Ill., it is r ecorded frm a wedding license penned the 30th day of Nov. 1 833, Rebecca Droullard and Jefferson Toulouse were marrie d by Rivers Cromack, minister of the gospel, the 1st day o f Dec. 1833.
After her husbands death, Rebecca lived for a time with he r son John. Later she went to Guthrie to live with her daug hter, Rebecca Schwab. Her son Pete T. was also living in Gu thrie. In papers for application of a widow's pension in 18 92, Rebecca states she was married in her sister's home i n the presence of her sister and husband, Emerson Chapman , who were both dead at the time of the application. Rebecc a also was unable to write and these papers were signed wit h her "X" mark. According to the records she received a pen sion of $8.00 a mo. from July 27, 1892 until her death in 1 900 at Guthrie, Okla.

The Toulouse family came from France. Raymond IV, count of Toulouse was one of the leaders of the crusade in 1096-1099. The name and nobility passed through the Raymound family, likewise a history of the struggle experienced by the sect the Raymonds belonged to and the church during the 12th and 13th century in France while under the rule of such nobility as Louis VII. In 1792-1795 the Raymond Family escaped from France during the Reign of Terror and came to North America, settling in Canada. The Raymond family took the name of Toulouse after the town from which they fled. Jefferson Toulouse was born in Canada in 1806, he worked for the North American Fur Trading Company under the direction of Messrs Roulette and Douseman for several years. Before 1833 he served in the Black Hawk War. He moved to Turkey river an Indian post opposite Cassville and in 1835 came to the lead mines and engaged in mining and smelting in Rigsby Hollow, one of the first settlements in the town of Potosi. When he died he was the last of a small colony of French Canadians who came to the mines at an early date in Potosi. He died at the home of his son in law Barney VanNatta in Harrison Twp in 1890. He married Rebecca Droullard at Potosi in 1837 their children were Mary Toulouse who married John Rech, Rebecca who married Henry Schwab, John who married Lucinda VanNatta, Eliza who married Henry VanNatta, Joe who married Percilla Wayne, Steven who died at age seven, Teresa who married Barney VanNatta, Jefferson who married Dolly Womic, Margaret Arsuli who married Thomas Benton Scott, Etta who married Jacob Miller and Pete who married Delia Scott.
