Her mother had children younger than her grandchildren. Mar y was the eldest of Jefferson Toulouse's family. The 185 0 census shows her sister, Eliza was living with Mary & he r husband, John Rech. Because of this, they were unable t o locate all of the Jefferson Toulouse family. The 1850 cen sus of the Toulouse family had Rebecca listed as eldest.
