BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. \emdash Gilbert Lamb, 91, of Black River Falls and formerly of Wyeville, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, Wis. Burial with military honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, town of Scott. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.

2. Obituary: From the Tomah Journal. Gilbert Lamb, 91, of Black River Falls, formerly of Wyeville, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at Black River Memorial Hospital. He was born July 20, 1916, to Gayland and Carrie (Griffin) Lamb at Tomah. He was united in marriage to Leona Steege on June 10, 1937, in Tomah. Gilbert lived in the Wyeville area for over 55 years. He mossed for many years, worked road construction, he also worked as a maintenance person at Volk Field before retiring in 1978. He loved to be in the outdoors, especially when he was cutting wood or mowing the lawn.

He is survived by two sons, Harold of Oregon and William of Tomah; five daughters, Beverly (Donald) Hartlein of Port Charlotte, FL, Rosena (Larry) Babcock of Klamath Falls, OR, Rita (Michael) Jasinski of Warrens, Elizabeth (Dwight) Hegg and Arlys (Kenneth) Fulton, both of Black River Falls; 31 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nelda Markquart of Wyeville; two brothers, Ethimer (Ginnie) of Florida and Casper Lamb of Wyeville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Leona; three sons, Frederick, Gilbert Jr. and Duane; and a daughter, Marie Meacham.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Rick Crisman will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Town of Scott.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home on Monday 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
